These might not be your mother’s lilies (or her jeans… or hair clips, or knee length floral dresses…) but may they live on to always be the showstopper in the room.

I painted these lilies as I reflected back on a memory of my mother planting lilies out front of our house when I was five years old. It’s my earliest memory of an actual flower because it was so prominent and magical feeling to where I can still see its exploding star like shape out in the sun in my dreams.
